Today I would like to talk about feeders and branch circuits. What is a feeder? This your main wiring coming into your panel or disconnect and is protected by a main breaker or fuses. This is a protection for your whole home or business .A branch circuit is smaller and like a tree branches off from your feeder coming in. If a feeder circuit trips there is no power fed through to the branch circuits because there is an overload in the entire system. If a branch circuit trips there is still power coming through your feeder but there is a problem in one part of the electrical system. If you have a problem with a tripping breaker in a branch circuit ,please do not put a bigger breaker to fix the problem, you are just asking for trouble. I hope this gives you a little understanding of feeders and branch circuits. Check past post for more helpful tips, Thanks for looking at my blog and give me call if you have any questions or would like a free estimate.
