Today I would like to talk about G.F.I's (ground fault interrupter). If you are installing  a g.f.i. you will have a line side and a load side .The line side is your power coming in the load side is your power going out . If you do not get this right your plug will not work. There is usually a piece of tape over the load side or if you look real close at the plug  it will read line and load. You can put up to ten other plugs on one gfi meaning that if there is a fault in those ten plugs it will trip the button on your gfi. Sometimes when a new house is being built electricians will do this to save money but if a plug is not working you have to go around the house and find the gfi that is tripped so I recommend putting a gfi at every point where one is required. Energy savings

Sometimes I get a call from a customer who is concerned about their electric bill and if I could do something to fix it. Well you are pretty much out of luck there  because if it isn't broke I can't fix it. But there are some things  you can do to lower your electric bill and they are check your ac ducts to make sure that they are not loose and blowing hot air into the attic. You could call a ac guy to check your unit and make sure it is running ok. There are also companies that come to your house and tell you what to do to make your house more energy  friendly . I hope this helps you out and as always check past post for more helpful tips. Thanks for looking at my blog and give me a call if you would like a free estimate.

I have electrical problems

Today I would like to talk about common electrical problems .If you have an electrical problem such as a short or you are smelling a burning .The best thing to do is turn off the breaker to source until you can get a licensed electrician over to check it out. This sounds simple but I get calls from people asking me what to do. If you are smelling something burning the best thing to do is call the fire dept. and then the electrician. Thanks for looking at my blog and check past post for more helpful hints.
